Is your plate full of pesticides?

It was always hard to believe that everything was right with our plates.

In a study done by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), where they had picked up random samples of fruits and vegetables from across the country, they found that vegetables, such as brinjal, cauliflower and cabbage had a pesticide presence of as much as 860% above permissible limit.

Wheat and Rice were safe either, with level of certain chemicals reaching almost 100 times more that what is allowed by law.

Fruits are the worst sufferer since, unlike vegetables, they are always consumed raw and there is practically no way of eliminating or diminishing the effects of the chemicals that have found their way into the fruit. Common fruits such as Apple are loaded with wax content and have pesticides content at 140% more than what law permits.

So, is there anything that we can do about it?
Here’s what we suggest.

Avoid Pesticides in Food
